Volunteers Needed to Teach Adults English

Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley needs volunteers to help teach English to the 30+ adults who are waiting to learn.

A four-session tutor training workshop will be offered Tuesdays and Thursdays August 13, 15, 20 and 22 from 6:30pm to 9:00pm at the St. Charles Public Library.

Volunteers do not need to know a second language or have a teaching background to be effective. Students say that the best tutors have patience and give practical information. Volunteer tutors teach for one hour each week at a time and public location that is convenient such as the Geneva Public Library.

To register for the August workshop or for a future workshop, visit www.lvfv.org or call Peg Coker at 630-584-4428.
