Peak Performance for Runners and Others

Please join us as Geneva Running Outfitters presents Dr. Vicki Alden from Novo – Renewing Joy in Life.  NOVO has developed an overarching treatment protocol broadly termed “Peak Performance” to underscore the interrelatedness of various treatments as well as the benefit of applying them in a “team approach.”

“With Peak Performance, we are working with athletes, business people, anyone who wants to be more effective at their craft,” said Dr. Vicki Alden Ph.D.  “The people we see really are very intelligent, competent, capable people,” Alden observed. “Our quest is to help people and to be able to do it in the most cutting-edge way, using techniques and therapy models that are really new and scientifically researched for proven results.”

Eric Ott, owner of Geneva Running Outfitters was pleased to be able to bring this presentation to his clients.  “Many people, even runners themselves can forget about the mental preparedness necessary for running success.  It’s a sport, like any other, that requires the athlete to be mentally trained and ready as well as physically trained and ready, observed Ott.  “For high level competitors especially, it’s important for them to have a mental plan, a strategy that they can implement when they reach the tough obstacles.   We’re hoping to see an opportunity where Peak Performance Protocols will provide that mental strategy necessary for optimum performance.”

Dr. Alden will partner with two of her staff, Amy Schillinger, LMFT and Art Therapist and Judy Thomas, LCSW to present some of the newest research in neurotherapy and the positive effects it can have on brain performance.  The evening will include a hands-on demonstration of neurofeedback and plenty of time for questions and answers.  Participants will also receive a discount coupon to introduce them to the Peak Performance Protocol that Novo has designed.

Neurotherapy is neurofeedback for the brain.  It is used to optimize brain functioning for individuals who want to up their game.  It does this by reducing inefficiencies and improving connectivity within the brain.  Neurofeedback provides clients with direct feedback about the state of particular brain wave activity in the form of audible tones or images on a computer screen to allow direct conscious manipulation of the target wave.  Like physical exercises to strengthen target muscles, these activities improve the functioning of the target pathways and create permanent changes to the brain.  It is a safe, natural, data guided treatment that corrects problems rather than covering them up.
