Legendary News Anchor Bill Kurtis Comes to Waubonsee Sept. 24
Legendary TV journalist Bill Kurtis will present
“Recipes for Disease: How the American Diet is Making Us Sick” on
Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 7 p.m. in the Auditorium of Waubonsee Community
College’s Sugar Grove Campus, Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive. Tickets are
$15 and are available at www.waubonseetickets.com. All tickets are
subject to a transaction fee.
During his presentation, Kurtis will discuss the means and motives
behind an American diet that is over-processed, over-sugared,
over-salted and contains too much fat.
While best known as a former news anchor for WBBM Channel 2, Kurtis is
also a rancher, conservationist and founder of the Tallgrass Beef
Company. In a message on Tallgrass’ website, Kurtis writes, “I
started Tallgrass Beef Company to raise cattle the way they were meant
to be raised. As a result, we have a process that’s better for the
animals and the planet, and products that are better for dinner and for
you.”
