Holmstad to Host Reception for Photographer John Janunas

Culminating a two-month exhibit of his work, photographer John Janunas will greet guests at an Artist’s Closing Reception, 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13, at The Holmstad Town Center Gallery, 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia.

The exhibit, which is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends by appointment, features Janunas’ nature photography, particularly photos of birds found in Batavia and along the Fox River.

The reception and refreshments are free. For more information, call The Holmstad, (630) 879-4100.

A photographer for 28 years, the St. Charles High School graduate has won awards from the Chicago Area Camera Club Association and is designated a Class A Photographer by the Mayslake Nature Study and Photography Club. Janunas says an exhibit of nature photography at the Morton Arboretum inspired the work on exhibit at The Holmstad.

The Holmstad is a faith-based, nationally accredited, not-for-profit continuing care retirement community located at 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia, Ill. It is administered by Covenant Retirement Communities Inc., which is a ministry of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
