Geneva Church to Offer Two Opportunities to Learn More About Climate Change

During the last weekend of October, Geneva resident Monica Jenkins will offer two presentations about climate change at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva, located at 110 S. 2nd Street in downtown Geneva.

On Friday, October 25 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, October 27 at 1:00 p.m., Jenkins will lead a 60-minute presentation on the Climate Reality Project, with a question-and-answer period following.

The Climate Reality Project is a not-for-profit group founded by former Vice President Al Gore and is dedicated to creating a passionate global cultural movement demanding action from our political and cultural leadership on the climate crisis. Jenkins was one of 1,500 participants this past summer at the 3-day training held at Chicago’s McCormick Place. More than 5,000 volunteers from 70 countries now present this material around the world.

The presentations will describe the science causing this crisis, relate current climate events in the past several years, and offer possible solutions and actions that individuals can take to address the crisis.
