Barack Obama, Abraham Lincoln, and the Structure of Reason

Co-authors Dan Van Haften and David Hirsch broke Abraham Lincoln’s speech writing code.  They identified and explained the unique and learnable structure used by Lincoln in their book Abraham Lincoln and the Structure of Reason published in November 2010.

Batavia author Van Haften will present an examination of President Obama’s speeches and his use of Lincoln’s structure as explained in their newest book Barack Obama, Abraham Lincoln, and the Structure of Reason published in June 2012.

Presented by the Geneva History Center, this program is part of the Brown Bag Lunch series.   It will take place on Tuesday, November 13, at noon at the Geneva History Center, 113 South Third Street, in the heart of Geneva’s downtown historic district.

Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for GHC members and students, free to Herrington Circle Members.  Cookies and coffee are provided and participants are encouraged to bring their lunch.   For more information, contact the Geneva History Center at 630-232-4951 or visit our website at www.genevahistorycenter.org to register online.
