Coultrap Time-Capsule Opening, Dedication Ceremony Set for Sept. 28

Geneva School District is pleased to announce the dedication of the Fourth Street administrative offices on Sept. 28, 2013.  The building will be dedicated the Coultrap Educational Services Center in honor of Harry M. Coultrap, who served as Geneva’s superintendent of schools from 1912 to 1950.

“Mr. Coultrap was an integral part in growing Geneva School District into the caring, successful district it is today,” said Superintendent Kent Mutchler.  “We felt it was appropriate to continue honoring his contributions to Geneva by naming our administrative offices in his honor.”

In addition to the dedication, the late superintendent’s grandson, Paul Coultrap, and other members of the family will be present to speak and open a time capsule found this summer during the demolition of the Coultrap Elementary School building on Peyton Street, which was built as a high school during Mr. Coultrap’s tenure.

The dedication ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. at 227 N. Fourth Street.  Light refreshments will be served.  All are welcome to attend.
