Weather Update: Winter Weather Advisory Issued
The Nixle team has issued an e-mail notice telling citizens about the Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
The National Weather Service for our neck of the woods has issued a Winter Weather Advisory, in place until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
The local Nixle e-mail alert sent out the warning to area residents.
The local forecast says to expect 1 to 3 inches Monday afternoon. As reported , the snow is expected to change to sleet and freezing rain. A total accumulation of 3 to 5 inches is expected.

"Persons traveling should exercise caution on the roads this afternoon and this evening," the warning says.
There's a chance of snow on Tuesday morning. After that, it's supposed to get cold.

"Much colder air will move across the area for Wednesday through Friday. High temperatures will struggle to get into the mid to upper teens. Overnight lows likely with drop below zero away from Chicago across North Central Illinois and into the single digits elsewhere."
