Vikings Girls Volleyball Team Loses Tough 3-Set Match to Waubonsie Valley
Geneva starts the season 0-2 against two tough opponents, but looks forward to the Geneva Invitational on Saturday.
The Vikings put up a good fight against Waubonsie Valley, but could not push the extra inch to leave the match with a victory.
In game one, Geneva came out swinging to gain a 7-2 lead against the Warriors. Defensively, The Vikings kept the court alive with the help of Kelly Dalheim, who led the team with 18 digs.
A few unforced errors caused Waubonsie Valley to take control over the match, but Kelsey Wicinski stole the momentum back with her tremendous serving and defense as she totaled 13 digs for the match. Jess Wicinski and Maddie Courter also helped out Geneva’s defense totaling 5 blocks each.
