UUSG Offers Chance to 'Follow the Butterflies'.

Volunteers also can do good by teaching Hebrew, contributing to the Barn Sale and buying African jewelry.

This week marks the lull between June’s Swedish Days church booth activities and August’s church picnics and back-to-school functions.

The Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva’s Green Sanctuary Committee will hold a Butterfly Walk on the grounds of Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 19. Led by Fermilab engineer and amateur lepidopterist Tom Peterson, the walk through the restored prairie could discover the rare Baltimore Checkerspot butterfly, which was re-introduced at Fermilab last year. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call Jeannie Scown at the church, 232-2350.

St. Peter Catholic Church will collect donations from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 23, for this year’s Barn Sale in September. Donors can drop off items at the Campana Building, northwest corner of Route 31 and Fabyan Parkway, or in the truck parked in the church parking lot at 1891 Kaneville Road. This will be the last collection before the sale. To arrange pickup of large items or for more information, call the Barn Sale hotline at 232-0124, ext. 310.
