On Saturday, the senior class at Geneva High School took part in the Sixth Annual Senior-Faculty Bike Ride. More than 70 seniors and six faculty members rode from Mill Race Cyclery to Wheaton (for lunch) through West Chicago and back to Geneva. The ride spans 30-plus miles.
This year, we had six faculty members along for the ride: Kevin Gannon, Peter Raak, Steve Whitman, Al Ocshner, Ryan Estabrook and myself. Art teacher Al Ocshner designed the ride T-shirts.
The staff at Mill Race Cyclery helped the students tune up their bikes, checking gears and brakes and adding a little air to the tires. They were great!
We tried to hold the ride the previous two weekends, but the bad weather kept preventing the ride from happening.
On Saturday, it rained on us for the last few miles, but everyone returned safely and had a great time.
