No Stepladder Needed

City's Christmas tree gets decked out in its holiday finery.

workers use cherry pickers to trim the city's official Christmas tree this afternoon in front of the at Third and James streets.

The were made by local children in schools and Scout troops. Hundreds of residents and visitors will gather Friday evening to watch Santa Claus and Mayor Kevin Burns light the tree to open .

"Look, Mommy! It's Christmas!" one toddler shouted as the same tree lit up several years ago.
