I've Got Your Hazardous Weather Outlook Right Here

The Winter Weather Advisory is over. The Hazardous Weather Outlook du jour is talking about more precip, then cold.

The Winter Weather Advisory—which is more of an all-points bulletin for hazardous driving conditions—is over. But the Hazardous Weather Outlook continues for Kane and surrounding counties.

This all comes from the Chicago-area version of the National Weather Service. You can get the outlook for you exact latitude and longitude here. (Geneva's is 41.88°N 88.32°W.)

From the sophisticated Geneva Patch weather station—looking out my back window—the official weather outlook is "yucky."

That's pretty much what the NWS is saying, as well.

"A brief period of locally dense fog is possible early this morning," the Hazardous Weather Outlook says. (I'm not sure what "locally dense" means, unless they're referring to me specifically. I'm in a locally dense fog until I get my first cup of coffee.)

"Recent wet snow, sleet and rain has led to icy conditions on untreated roads, parking lots and sidewalks.

"Temperatures will fall below freezing today, which may cause icy conditions to persist ... Bitter cold arctic air is expected to surge into the Midwest Thursday night and Friday. Temperatures will likely fall below zero across much of Northern Illinois.

"Blustery northwest winds may combine with very cold air temperatures to produce wind chills as low as 25 below by early Friday."

Good thing for me I'll be in a locally dense fog
