Geneva Church Social: Films, Free Food Offered at Local Churches

From saving fuel to surviving the loss of a spouse, Genevans can find it all at their corner churches.

Are you looking to squeeze some extra summer socializing into the next few weeks? These area churches are ready to help:

will hold its annual church picnic Sunday, Aug. 14, in Fabyan East Forest Preserve. Setup will start at 10:30 a.m. The picnic will kick off with an 11 a.m. church service, followed by a buffet lunch, a 1 p.m. service and games. will host its Third Tuesday Supper from 4:30-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, in the fellowship hall at the church, 211 Hamilton St. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the church’s website at www.geneaumc.org.

will host a NAIM meeting at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, in the Muldoon Room at the parish center, 1891 Kaneville Road. NAIM is a support group for widows and widowers. For more information, call Barbara at 208-9861.

will show a documentary film, Fuel, at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at the society’s church hall, 110 S. Second St. The event is free. For more information, visit the society’s website at www.uusg.org.
