The following information was supplied by the Geneva Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

arrested Andrew Potter, 20, of Geneva on charges of domestic battery bodily harm to a family member and domestic battery insulting/provoking contact after an incident at around 2 a.m. Sept. 3 at a residence in the 300 block of Colonial Circle, reports said.

Geneva police reported to Delnor Hospital to talk with the victim, who stated that she was trying to retrieve some personal belongings after a breakup, and an argument ensued. The victim said Potter began screaming, throwing furniture and shouting obscenities and threats. She said Potter approached her in the kitchen, grabbed her by the arms and threw her to the floor, causing her to twist her ankle and right knee and strike her head on the floor.

The report said the victim was at the hospital for treatment of the knee and ankle injury.
