Naperville Is 8th Richest City in U.S.

News Nearby: Naperville listed as eighth highest-earning city in America, according to a new study by NerdWallet.

Apparently, spring isn't the only time of year Naperville sees green.

According to a new study by NerdWallet, the personal finance site lists Naperville as the eighth highest-earning city in America. According to the study, 54.8 percent of households in Naperville earn more than $100,000 per year. 

After crunching data from the U.S. Census Department, NerdWallet lists Naperville among 15 other cities in the country where over half of the households earn more than $100,000.

Naperville, along with Carmel, IN, are the only two cities in the midwest on NerdWallet's list. A majority of the cities are located in Texas or California metro areas.

San Ramon, CA, which is about 35 miles from San Francisco, tops the list with 63.50 percent of households earning more than $100,000, according to NerdWallet.

The list was compiled from data of more than 500 of the largest cities and metro areas in the U.S.

NerdWallet lists Chicago, incidentally, as the 31st most expensive city in which to live in the U.S.
