5 Things You Should Know for Friday, July 29—Recycling Plastic Into Oil (Really) and Christmas in July

The Kane County Cougars are doing Christmas in July—and that's just one cool thing going on Friday in Geneva.

Finding renewable resources that can make oil cheaper and easier to attain might be closer at hand than you'd think. You can attend an innovative product demonstration today and find out how to make your own oil from home. 

Here are five things you should know about today:

1.  at 7 p.m. in . Events will include Christmas dinner in the Super Suite, a pre-game parade with Santa, a toy and food drive, caroling and gift wrapping contests, voting for the ugliest Christmas sweater, and a post-game fireworks show set to holiday music.

2. You might find some great bargains on clothes, toys and household items at a garage sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 368 Colonial Circle, in Geneva. 

The sale will also take place from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

3. The Steel Beam Children's Theatre is  at 7:30 p.m. Steel Beam offers classes, summer camps, workshops and audition-based theatrical productions for children ages 6 through 16.

Willy Wonka Jr. showcases many young, talented actors and actresses, many whom are from the St. Charles and Tri-Cities area. Tickets are $14 for adults and $10 for ages 16 and under. 

4.  The album release party for local musician local musician Jon Conover starts at 9 p.m. at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles. For more information, click here.

5. If you travel on the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway (I-90) you should know that . This should ease some of the traffic delays on one of the area's most-heavily traveled highways.
