This is WHY.....

People ask me why I spend much of my spare time volunteering for Casey’s Safe Haven, and truthfully, I really hadn’t ever thought of WHY…I just did.  I feel good doing it, and I believe I am helping animals that have no other voice.  But now that I am asking myself about the “why”, I discovered there isn’t one, it’s BECAUSE…

·        Because I really love my rescue sisters…Kathy, Gaye, and Jen. 

·        Because dogs are the most loyal animal I know, and they need a voice.

·        Because animal abuse and neglect is so wrong.

·        Because Casey’s Safe Haven rescues more than just the cute puppies that everyone wants…we rescue older dogs, sick dogs, dogs with heartworm, dogs that have special needs, orphaned puppies…dogs that no other shelter will take.

But even more BECAUSE if I didn’t…

·        I would not have my sweet Delta (pictured with her sisters)…one of the dogs that Casey’s Safe Haven treated for heartworm, and I fostered, and I “foster failed”…meaning I adopted her!

·        I would not have the thrill of adding “parents” to the Casey’s Safe Haven Family.

·        I would not be able to see the pups return for a visit as pampered pets, so changed the forlorn pups they were when in the kill shelter.

·        I would not have been able to share this passion with the volunteers that give up time on the weekends to help us.

·        I would not have met all of the kind people that are involved not only n rescue, but in transport, fostering, and care.

But most of all BECAUSE I CAN…which saves pups lives and is all the reason I need.  Thank you Casey’s Safe Haven for bringing this joy and sense of purpose to my life!
