In Search of A Family

Thinking about getting a dog for your family?  Please consider adopting a Rescue Dog.  Every year far too many innocent dogs are neglected, abandoned, and abused. These pups struggle to survive under horrific circumstances – alone at the mercy of the weather, lacking food or water, no care, no  love and no family. These dogs and puppies wind up in animal shelters or worse, and if they are too sick or display aggressive behavior they are euthanized.

Some have never experienced life outside a crate. Others have been someone's pet, a part fo their family and are dropped off at a shelter because for a variety of reasons (i.e., divorce, moving, death, financial problems, etc.).

Many people think that rescue dogs must have something wrong with them! This is NOT TRUE!  Most dogs that end up in rescues are there because their owners have been irresponsible, have not spayed or neutered and are usually neglectful. They think their dog is "property" instead of a loyal, and loving family member. These dogs do not get enough (or any) attention, socialization, or training, and when they misbehave or have puppies...it's the "dog's fault"! The pups in rescue have been part of a family and are alone and scared...they feel lost!

My Rescue Family - Casey's Dog Rescue, is dedicated to finding loving homes for these "throw away" dogs. We know the warmth and love these pups have in their hearts and dedicate our time to them.  There are just SO many out there and we do all we can to save as many as possible.  We know we can't save them all...but we will sure try!

These are some of the pups that we saved from KILL shelters, sometimes minutes before they were due to go to heaven.  When we transport them to our fantastic foster homes, you can sense the relief in their bodies, and see it in their eyes.  They know that the best is yet to come.  Their is no peace greater than that seen in a foster dog on their first night.  Their bodies just collapse and they breathe that deep sigh of relief...the fear dissolves into a very deep, well deserved, sleep.

If you are considering opeining your home to a dog or puppy, please consider adoption.  You will not olnly save the life of the dog you adopt, you will open a space at the shelter for a pup that might have otherwise been euthanized.

Some of our available dogs are listed below.  The rest can be found at www.petfinder.com and enter zip code 60119.  If one of them speaks to you, please email Kathy at Caseysdogs@yahoo.com for additional details and an application.
