Richmond 2012: 3 Papers Endorse Dave Richmond for Illinois 25th Senate.

The Kane County Chronicle, Daily Herald and Chicago Tribune endorse Dave Richmond for the Republican nomination for Illinois 25th Senate.

The Kane County Chronicle, Daily Herald and Chicago Tribune had endorsed Dave Richmond for the Republican nomination for Illinois 25th Senate.

Excerpts from the three endorsements are as follows:

Endorsement: 25th State Senate District (R): Richmond

“As the Blackberry Township supervisor, Dave Richmond has a proven track record of success holding public office. That is the key factor that separates him as our choice for endorsement in a strong field vying for the Republican nomination in the 25th Illinois State Senate District. Richmond, a Batavia resident, takes pride in Blackberry Township’s balanced budget and stressed that the township has lowered the property tax levy,” said the Kane County Chronicle editorial board.

Richmond for Illinois Senate District 25, GOP

“All the candidates are well-versed in the challenges of pension reform, Medicaid reform and spending control that confront the state, but it’s Richmond who speaks most passionately and convincingly about the strategies for solving them. While he does press his positions forcefully, Richmond also seems both most inclined toward and best prepared for engaging in the political collaboration that will be required to reach solutions, and his personal commitment to the district appears unassailable,” stated the Daily Herald Editorial Board.

Chicago Tribune: Dave Richmond, 25th Senate

"Blackberry Township supervisor Dave Richmond of Batavia has business experience on a much smaller scale—he owns a Lube Pros franchise in Bolingbrook, with 12 employees—but he's more likely to have a genuine interest in state government."
