Sheriff Pat Perez Endorses Jack Cunningham For County Clerk!

The following is the text of the Sheriff's speech endorsing Jack Cunningham as they stood together on the front steps of Aurora City Hall last Thursday:

"I’d like to take this opportunity to show my support for Kane County Clerk Jack Cunningham by giving him my endorsement. Having served alongside Jack for the last eight years, I have come to appreciate his leadership and the efficiency with which his office operates.

Whenever I have business with the County Clerk, be it voting or otherwise, I’ve always been greeted by a courteous and professional staff and I attribute that to Jack’s leadership.

When my mother passed away in 2012, Jack not only paid his respects to my family in person, but he personally provided the necessary death certificates to process my mom’s estate. And I’m not nearly the only one who’s been the beneficiary of that kind of direct service.

Not only has Jack been there for me, but for the last ten years he’s hosted a monthly elected officials luncheon. These informal gatherings are an opportunity for county officials to brainstorm and resolve differences before they get out of hand.

It was Jack’s willingness to play mediator that was a key factor in bringing the Chairman and Coroner to a budget consensus."

I want to add that Jack also took the lead on school security by proactively working with my office and the Regional School Superintendent to provide election day security. With an officer and squad car stationed at every school polling place, the safest day of the school year is now election day.

Jack’s background as an attorney has been a real asset to the Clerk’s office as well. It has allowed him to be ahead of the curve when important operating decisions have potential legal ramifications.

Jack has been nothing but a gentleman to me. I appreciate him as a friend, and I appreciate the job he has done as County Clerk. Please join my family in voting for Jack on March 18."
