Fast Facts: The Class 4A Plainfield East Regional title comes down to a pair of teams that aren’t regular regional champions. Bolingbrook’s 2009 regional title was its first since 1994. Geneva has not won a regional crown since 1986 and has its most wins since its 1963 team reached the state tournament. Bolingbrook was the outright winner of the Southwest Suburban Blue this season, led by one of the state’s most highly touted juniors in Nixon. He leads the team with 15 points, 3.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game. Davis flanks him at shooting guard, averaging 12.9 points per game. The Raiders easily handled Batavia 73-56 in Tuesday’s semifinal. Geneva’s season is among the best in the program’s history. Another highly-touted junior, Navigato, leads the way for the Vikings. He is an inside/out threat that can score from just about anywhere. Parrilli is the heart and soul of the team at guard, a hard-nosed player who is not afraid of contact. Landi provides great length and athleticism down low. Temple’s defense is among the area’s best. He helped hold Illinois recruit Aaron Jordan to 14 points in Wednesday’s 64-58 semifinal win over Plainfield East. The winner of the game will advance to next Wednesday’s Class 4A East Aurora Sectional semifinal against either Plainfield North or West Aurora.
