Geneva Film Festival Starts Thursday!

This year's Geneva Film Festival will screen over 40 independent films from around the globe, including feature-length and short narratives, documentaries, animation and student films.

Over 40 independent films will be shown at the 5th Annual Geneva Film Festival, which kicks off this Thursday in downtown Geneva. The festival runs through Saturday at State Street Dance Studio, 319 W. State St.

Films include narrative features, narrative shorts, documentary features, documentary shorts, animation shorts and student shorts. Awards will be presented to filmmakers in each category.

New this year is a screening of the "Emerging Cinematographer Award" winners from the International Cinematography Guild.  A Saturday workshop features professional filmmakers who will demonstrate how to set up a scene.

Tickets are $3 per screening block and are available at the door. Festival passes cost $10 and include entry to all films and workshops throughout the three-day event.

Passes are available at the door or from the following Geneva merchants:  Wildwood Restaurant, Riley Drug, Kernel's Gourmet Popcorn & More, Old Towne Pub, Geneva Ale House, 7-Eleven on W. State St., Geneva History Center, Geneva Ace Hardware and Graham's 18 Coffee House.
