Chris Lauzen: Kane County Overview

Kane County Chairman Chris Lauzen shares his thoughts on county government.

I truly appreciate Rick Nagel’s generous invitation to participate in the ongoing Patch discussion on what we’re trying to accomplish in County Government. I believe that, in the end, what matters is keeping promises and, during my campaign, I made three promises that matter:

1. Freeze – then reduce – property tax levies for the county, the forest preserve, and, indirectly, the Fox Valley Park District.

2. Do my best to eliminate the influence of “big money” in Kane County government decision making.

3. Run the day-to-day operation of county government according to best management practices.

In the upcoming weeks we’ll be discussing how, through your help and teamwork with a great county board, these things can be accomplished in the next four years.

I appreciate the trust you’ve placed in me as County Chairman and look forward to your suggestions and feedback.
