Marklund Earns Three-Year Accreditation

(Geneva, IL)       Marklund, a nonprofit organization that provides therapeutic, residential and educational services to medically fragile children and adults with profound developmental disabilities, recently received a three-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of health and human services. The three-year accreditation was based on the results of an intensive survey of the organization, its Geneva campus, Developmental Training program, governance and staff.

“This was a wonderful accomplishment for Marklund,” said Gil Fonger, president and CEO of Marklund. “Over a five-month period, staff assembled a comprehensive collection of information that was requested by the surveyors prior to their visit. After reviewing the information and interviewing staff, board members, and clients’ parents/guardians, the surveyors could not have been more complementary.”
