Where to Find Harry Potter Author J.K. Rowling’s New Book in Geneva

The new book, The Casual Vacancy, is to be released later in September.

Harry Potter may have vanished into the past, but author J.K. Rowling is still around, with her for-adults book The Casual Vacancy due out Sept. 27.

In Geneva, you can find the book at Barnes & Noble. If you’re looking to check the book out from the Geneva Public Library, there will be plenty of copies avialable from Geneva or its neighbor libraries, but Director Matt Teske says not to expect any midnight parties or fanfare.

"This is an adult book from J.K. Rowling so we are really not sure what kind of demand this will ultimately have," he said.

More than 2 million hardcover copies of Rowling's novel are set to be released simultaneously in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Germany.

According to USA Today, the story is set in the little English town of Pagford, and revolves around an election held after a member of the parish council unexpectedly dies. Despite the Miss Marple terrain, press materials describe The Casual Vacancy  as "blackly comic … Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty facade is a town at war."

We're not sure how, since the release date is still pending, but Good Reads website already is giving the book 4.43 stars out of five, with 95 ratings and 290 reviews as of Friday, Sept. 21.
