Visions For Vacancies: What Should Go Here?

The old 7-Eleven space at 201 W Hillgrove Ave. in La Grange is vacant. With such a prime location close to downtown and the La Grange Road Train Station, we put the question to you. What would you like to see in this space?

Before it was a 7-Eleven it was a White Hen. Before it was a White Hen it was a... actually, I can't really remember what it was before that, can you?

Either way, they're both gone now and the space remains shuttered.

With such a great location—it's close to the train station and downtown while still being in a residential area—we think it'd be a shame for it to remain that way for long. So, what would you like to see there?

Another deli and small grocery store? A beer and wine seller? Maybe a coffee shop?

You tell us in comments below.

A Great Harvest Bread store like the one that left a few years back, but this one could serve sandwiches too (went to one in Oregon that served sold sandwiches on the Great Harvest Bread--so good!

That sounds good to me too. As far as I can tell, we don't have a sandwich shop in La Grange anymore. Now Serving is great for sandwiches and some deli-ish items, but hey, there's room for two, right? Am a wrong? Where do you go for sandwiches in La Grange?

My Grandpa's Store at Waiola & Ogden is great for sandwiches! Cocula's on LaGrange Road near 55th has great steak torta sandwiches, homemade soups, and the best nachos around for a very reasonable price. A deli would be great in that location.

I just called over and found out that Little People's Country is expanding (!) into the space. I'll hopefully be able to bring a full story soon!
