Chef Roby Lives in a Chocolate Kitchen—But His Sugar Sculptures are Art for Valentines

Geneva's Chef Roby has some delectable ideas for your Valentine with gourmet treats that are truly a work of art.

If you're looking for something a little different that's almost too good to eat, stop by at 507 S. Third St. where you'll find amazing sweet treats hand-crafted by the master chef himself. Beautiful sugar sculptures that resemble fine crystal will surely win the heart of your beloved, coupled with heart-shaped chocolates.

If Chef Roby is busy creating these treasures, his wife Esther will greet you with a smile and help you choose the right romantic gift.

A portion of the shop's sales goes to the Saving Tiny Hearts Society. The Robys first learned their oldest son, Jonathan, had a heart defect when he collapsed on the football field at age 15. Now 19, Jonathan is doing well, and the Robys have joined with Saving Tiny Hearts to raise money for congenital heart defect research.

In case you are wondering about the shop's name—there actually is a kitchen made entirely of chocolate that you can see, not taste, while you're shopping for your Valentine.

On Thursday, watch for our Viewfinder photos of Chef Roby at work creating sugar sculptures.
