Geneva's Anastazia Opens New Store in Glen Ellyn

Tom Konopacki opens a second store, this one in downtown Glen Ellyn.

A well-known Geneva business has spread its wings with a new retail store in downtown Glen Ellyn.

is a shop full of seasonal home decor, affordable home accents and uncommon gifts. A second Anastazia store opened a week ago at 482 N. Main St. in Glen Ellyn's central business district.

“Glen Ellyn seemed like a great market to tap into,” said owner Tom Konopacki.

This is Konopacki’s second store in the western suburbs. After seven years of perfecting his operation in Geneva, Konopacki wanted to expand by adding a location in Glen Ellyn.

“It seemed like there was a vibrancy coming back into the downtown area,” said Konopacki.

He hopes his store will add to that vibrancy since it’s unlike any other in the central business district. Konopacki explained that his ever-changing inventory will set Anastazia apart from other home good stores in the area. Customers will always see new inventory when they walk through the door, and he thinks that’s part of what will keep them coming back.

Konopacki has years of experience in the retail world. Before opening up these home accent stores, Konopacki worked for Spiegel as a buyer for the home accessory division.

“That’s where I developed the look of the store,” said Konopacki.

Mixed in with modern pieces are vintage furnishings from the '50s and '60s. Handmade soaps, artwork and candles are among the assortment of home goods in the new store.
