Ross Dress For Less Now Open on Randall Road; Free Gift Cards for Some Customers

Five locations in the Chicago area open on the same day.

Ross Dress for Less® (“Ross”), the nation’s largest off-price apparel and home fashion chain with more than 1,000 stores, will expand its presence in the greater Chicago area on Oct. 6 with a new location in Geneva.

The Geneva opening coincides with four other Ross stores—in Darien, DeKalb, Gurnee and Niles, in the Golf Mill Shopping Center. These openings bring the total number of Ross stores in the greater Chicago area to 21, following the chain’s debut in the region October 2011.

Chicago area shoppers will find the same brand names carried in department and specialty stores priced at 20 percent to 60 percent less at Ross. The stores will carry great savings on fall styles including apparel, shoes and accessories for the entire family, as well as home fashions and gifts.

As part of the grand opening ceremonies and in support of the local communities, Ross Stores, Inc. will make a donation of $1,000 each to the Union League Boys & Girls Clubs, Friends of the DeKalb Public Library, Dollars for Scholars, the Boys & Girls Club of Elgin and the Boys & Girls Club of Lake County and the Boys & Girls Club of Rockford.

Additionally, each store will give away $1,000 in Ross Dress for Less gift cards. From Saturday, Oct. 6, to Sunday, October 14th, customers may enter in store for a chance to win a $500 shopping spree or one of five $100 shopping sprees.

We have 24 hours to find a foster for these babies! We are pulling 8 from this Animal ControlRead More Facility and would love to rescue these 5 tiny pups too. Fostering is an amazing experience for your entire family and Casey's SAfe Haven pays all of the costs to foster. We provide food, vet care, crate, puppy playpen, toys, etc. You provide plenty of love, socialization and since they are puppies we hope you have a lot of newspaper! Please email Kathy at caseysdogs@yahoo.com

I have to agree with the others who are disappointed with the new format of Patch. The old versionRead More had more zip and more interesting topics. Now it has become very blah! I am sorry but change is not always a good thing. Fred Cregier

The link provided by LW Sagan explains why the Patch is becoming irrelevant and that is a shame. IRead More don't even think Rick Nagel can save it.

Chris, I have another story of waste in the County to add to your fix-it lists: We received,Read More yesterday, our new voters registration cards from John Cunningham's office, telling us that our polling place will be Coultrap School (which has been the case previously for many years). The problem is that Coultrap School is currently being demolished! So, who pays for having to send out corrections on this? Is Cunningham's office that insulated from what is going on in the real world? Fred Cregier
