Vote for the Best Antiques Store in the Tri-Cities! What's Your Readers' Choice?
Of the many antiques stores in the Batavia, Geneva and St. Charles, which one is the best? Vote for your favorite in our 2012 Readers' Choice Awards poll!
One of the simple language lessons I learned early in my journalism career was taught by Renee Tomell at The Geneva Republican, and I remember it to this day.
It's "antiques store," not "antique store," because an antique store is, well, a store that's very old.
And the reason we had to learn the proper use of those two words is that we typed them a lot. Batavia, Geneva and St. Charles are blessed with numerous antiques stores, and what Patch is asking you to do today is answer this question: Which one is the best?

Since I've broken down and started writing this in the first person, I might as well add that I'll be more than a little interested in your votes. I don't generally shop for antiques, so I'll be curious to know how you rate the best.
Nominations were accepted on Geneva, Batavia and St. Charles Patch through July 9.

Winners in all Readers' Choice categories will be announced on Aug. 24.
The poll will open to accept votes from registered Patch users starting on July 23 and close at 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 17.
And for the record, in using that same adjective to describe the Geneva Patch editor ... go ahead and leave off the "s." :)
