New, Live-Music Venue Coming to 302 West State This Summer

EvenFlow Music & Spirits is getting ready to open a music venue at the corner of Third and State in Geneva.

It's been a long wait, but it looks like Geneva has a tenant for the at the high-profile .

EvenFlow Music & Spirits is already starting renovation work for the interior of the building that once was home to the restaurant known for its cuisine and its address: 302 West.

The new, music venue is scheduled to be open this summer, with a focus on live entertainment.

"EvenFlow Music & Spirits will showcase some of the most popular live music acts in the Chicago-land area," owners Michael Knuth and Nick Mercadante said in a press release issued Thursday.

Knuth and Mercadante says the venue is inspired by many live music scenes across the country, in cities such as Chicago, Nashville and New Orleans.

EvenFlow Music & Spirits will provide music acts from every genre, past and present, including rock, jazz, and blues. There will be something for all musical tastes, including live-band karaoke and gospel brunches.

When there is not a live band on stage, expect to see recorded live performances from some of the most well-known performers in the music industry on our high-definition flat screens placed around the bar.

Blending the elements of the historical exterior with a modern interior design, this three-level venue will include a bar spanning the length of the main floor, a lofted area overlooking a full stage, and an intimate lounge below the main level. The cocktail menu will boast competitively-priced libations with local brews, handcrafted cocktails and classic recipes.

Diners should expect American fare with a twist.

“We are so appreciative of the support we’ve received from the people of Geneva,” says owner Michael Knuth. “From spending time in Geneva, we know that there are a lot of music fans in town. We want to create a new place for them to enjoy amazing live music right in the heart of the suburbs.”

You're right, the live music will be a nice addition. I hope the food is a step above typical bar food. With all of the great restaurants around (and Stockholm's a step away) it needs to be pretty decent to avoid losing that traffic. Did the investor you spoke with mention any timeframes when you spoke?

He said they were hoping to get it opened up in three to four weeks. But they have a lot of work to do and he didn't seem to confident. I think this venue is going to bring some really cool energy to our downtown. A few weeks back a guy posted on an article regarding the ravinia style possibilities of the Fabyan preserve. He was saying that Geneva should reinvent itself as a western suburbs music destination. After thinking about it and after seeing this new venue he might be on to something. Rice

John, Thanks for the info. IMO the sooner the better on its opening. That would be curious, what Geneva would reinvent itself as. A few music venues and it would go a long way. If we deep six the old Mill Race Inn building, put up a nice boardwalk and have bottom floor restaurants / music venues I'd be a happy man (upper floor residential).

Justin, I might just have to stop by your office on State St. and take you up on the cup of coffee. While I'm there you guys can run me some quotes on auto, motorcycle and home owners insurance. See if Allstate is competitive with my current insurance privider. See you on Monday. J. R.

John - it would be my pleasure to review everything with you. We're open until 8pm - whatever time works for you I'll throw some fresh coffee on. Have a great weekend and I'll see you Monday.
