New Elburn-Focused Website Launches Aug. 1

Patch contributor Sandy Kaczmarski opens her own news website in Elburn, called HawkView.org.

Longtime Patch contributor Sandy Kaczmarski announced this week that she is launching her own news website in Elburn, starting Wednesday, Aug. 1.

The Elburn and Campton Hills areas will be the focus of the news website, called HawkView.org.

Kaczmarski says the online site will cover local news, including Village Board meetings, information from the School District, and just general news from around town and Kane County.

A former Patch guest editor, freelance writer and photographer, Kaczmarski decided to start the site to fill what she sees as a void.

"There's a lot of important news affecting the nearly 20,000 people who live in these areas," Kaczmarski said. "I hope to be able to pass along some information that is not always covered by the area's dwindling news outlets."

HawkView will also feature stories on some of the local residents and businesses, as well as aggregating interesting stories in the news and on the Internet.
