Geneva Hardware Re-Opens for Holiday Liquidation Sales

Many former employees of Geneva Hardware are helping out with store liquidation sales.

Big signs—we're talking really big, and plenty of them—are posted today outside and inside the Geneva Hardware store on West State Street, just east of Randall Road in St. Charles.

A staff member said he couldn't comment, but a press release would be coming shortly from the liquidator regarding the store's re-opening and holiday sales.

One piece of good news for local folks is that there are a number of familiar faces at the store, former employees who are working at Geneva Hardware for the balance of the store's life.

Geneva Hardware previously was located in the place where Ace Hardware was and will be soon, at 617 W. State St. The Geneva Ace is under the ownershop of .

The Havliceks had hoped to open the new Geneva Ace by mid-December, but a worker there said today that the opening most likely would be in January.

Geneva Hardware—located at 2063 Lincoln Highway (Route 38) in the building that formerly was the home of Dominick's food store—. Mike Dickson, the owner, had moved from 617 W. State St. to the St. Charles location in March after some unresolved issues regarding the lease.
