Geneva Gas Guide: Best Nearby Gas Prices in Batavia

Not sure why, but Batavia stations were 14 cents lower in some cases this week.

If you're shopping around for the best gas prices, a short drive to Batavia might be your best bet.

Yes, you can get your gas at Sam’s Club in Batavia and Costco in St. Charles—which ha the No. 1 and No. 2 lowest prices per gallon of regular gasoline in the Tri-Cities on Wednesday, according to Illinois Gas Prices—but you have to pay a membership fee.

Most every station in Geneva was at $3.99 this week, but if you want to go to BP, Mobil or Shell in Batavia, you can get away with $3.85—a tidy little savings.

Overall, Tri-Cities gas prices continued to outpace the statewide average price of a gallon of regular gasoline, which was $3.992 Wednesday.

AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report showed that nationally, the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline late Wednesday was $3.621 a gallon, up slightly from $3.626 a day earlier and up from $3.660 a week ago.

In comparison, the national average of a gallon of regular gas a month ago was $3.500, and was $3.636 a year ago. The highest recorded national average price for a gallon of regular gasoline was $4.114 on July 17, 2008.
