Gas Gauge: $3.49 a Gallon in Geneva! And We Might Not See $4 Again Until Spring

It's the low-price time of the year, so enjoy.

Yes, gas price are down again in Geneva!

The low price spotted around 7:15 a.m. Monday were at BP and Meijer, each at $3.49 a gallon. And the average price in Geneva is $3.52—38 cents lower than it was three weeks ago!

But remembering the old adage, "every cloud has an evil, black thunderstorm,"  Gas Gauge was able to aggregate at least a little pessimism to go with this sunny news.

The Chicago Sun-Times' excellent business reporter Francine Knowles offers this quote from Oil Price Information Service Chief Oil Analyst Tom Kloza in a story headlined Gas prices slip in Chicago area, may even go lower. Kloza says prices will stay low through the end of the year, but “we’ll be dealing with $4 a gallon gasoline in many markets in the early spring of 2012.”

So, enjoy these low, low prices while you can.
