Rock ‘n’ Roll Worship at Geneva Lutheran

On Sunday, Sep. 11, at 9:00 a.m., everyone is invited for a 9-11 Remembrance Tree Planting ceremony in the circle drive in front of the main entrance at the corner of Third and Franklin Streets in downtown Geneva. Following the tree planting, everyone will move inside to the sanctuary for a Rock ‘n’ Roll worship service to kick off the fall programming.

Using the theme, “Jesus is my Rock…around the clock!” the morning events will take you back to the 1950s. After worship you can start in the ‘50s Diner for a cup o’ joe and a donut; then stop back late morning for lunch served by roller-skating waitresses; all for a free-will donation.

Cool cats of all-ages are invited to: Come in your ‘50s threads; prizes will be given for Best Dressed Greasers and Chickie Babies! Get your picture taken with a ‘50s era car. Design a quilt square for the all-church Theme Quilt. Play games and contests—Car Hop relay, Bozo buckets, bubble gum blowing contest, Name That Tune, Limbo, Hula Hoop contest, Musical Chairs, Cookie Bop Hop, face painting, '50s Trivia contest, and more!
