Geneva Community Chest Wine Gala Fundraiser

Geneva Community Chest will host its annual wine gala fundraiser on Wednesday, March 21 at Urban Grille, 524 W. State Street in Geneva, beginning with a cash bar at 5:30 pm, followed by dinner at 7:00 pm. Enjoy good company and a delicious 4-course wine and food pairing plus fabulous desserts compliments of Cocoa Bean.

The menu will consist of a first course of Spanish omelet with potato and garlic paired with Fino Sherry; the second course features smoked trout-stuffed flounder with buerre blanc paired with Charles Smith Riesling; a third course will offer brined and porcini-dusted pork tenderloin paired with Charles Smith Velvet Devil Merlot; and the fourth course will feature braised peppered beef short ribs paired with Pinot Noir. The finale will be a selection of desserts from Cocoa Bean in Geneva. Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased online at www.genevacommunitychest.org or by contacting Sharon Billings at (630) 232-3125 or by email at sbillings@minerent.com.

Geneva Community Chest volunteers work hard to keep the organization’s long-standing commitments to the agencies it serves.  Because the Community Chest is operated entirely by volunteers, about 95 percent of the money raised goes directly to the 20+ agencies that need it most. That means one donation can help literally hundreds of people, just in Geneva.

Over the years, the Community Chest Board of Directors has decided to remain an independent community-based organization and not become involved with any national fund-raising groups. As a result, the Community Chest can provide help to some smaller, local agencies that do important work, but can’t meet the stringent qualifications for funding imposed by a bureaucratic national fund-raising organization. And, the Community Chest can give nearly everything it collects to the agencies working to enhance the quality of life for people in our community. No funds are diverted to a national organization or to hire a paid staff. Please support your local Geneva Community Chest!
