Bites Nearby: Egg Harbor Cafe Makes Breakfast The Most Delicious Meal of the Day

Egg Harbor Cafe's gourmet dishes put a new spin on traditional breakfast options.

is a family-owned business with 15 locations throughout the area. Egg Harbor is only open from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., giving the staff the opportunity to perfect the most important meal of the day: breakfast.

Decor

Egg Harbor's Geneva location makes you feel right at home with decor centered around simple country charm. As part of the relatively new downtown business district development, the restaurant has a fresh clean feeling inside a warm and friendly atmosphere. There's also an outdoor seating area to enjoy on a nice day.

The Drinks

There's an extensive beverage menu that goes beyond the normal juice and coffee route. The orange and grapefruit juices are freshly squeezed and come in 8-ounce ($2.45) or 12-ounce ($2.95) sizes, you can also order a carafe ($7.95) for the table. The addition of fresh strawberries to your morning OJ makes it even more refreshing. Their freshly squeezed strawberry orange juice comes in 8-ounce ($2.75), 12-ounce ($3.25) or carafe ($8.45) sizes. The freshly squeezed Lemonade ($2.45) is also available with fresh strawberries ($2.95) and comes with one free refill.

For those of us who can't function without our morning caffeine boost, Egg Harbor serves freshly ground Intelligentsia brand coffee. An unlimited cup is $2.45. Flavored coffees, hot chocolate, and assorted teas are also available.

Entrees

Breakfast-lovers are often on a search for the best Egg's Benedict, and is a good place to start looking. With six different varieties on the menu, Benedict-lovers can rejoice in gourmet hollandaise heaven.

The Fried Green Tomato Benedict ($7.95) tops two English muffin halves with fried green tomatoes, diced bacon, and roasted red peppers. It also includes a side of cheesy grits. For something a little more indulgent, the Lobster Cake Benedict ($10.95) features homemade lobster cakes and a red pepper hollandaise sauce.

Egg Harbor's breakfast sandwiches are a good option if you're in the market for something a little less rich. Try The Handler ($8.95), which is a pretzel roll filled with shaved ham, crisp bacon, and hard egg topped with melted swiss cheese.

It's not all about egg dishes at Egg Harbor. Aimee's Gourmet Griddle menu has the expected pancakes, waffles, and french toast, but one new dish stands out from the crowd; Red Velvet French Toast ($7.95). The chef takes pieces of red velvet cake layered with cream cheese frosting, dips it in their specialty french toast batter and then grills it to a golden-red perfection. It comes topped with a berry garnish.

Service

Egg Harbor prides itself on exemplary service and customer satisfaction. Regular customers come back not only for the food, but friendly staff. Wait times tend to be long on weekend mornings, but believe us, it's worth it!
