5 Things To Do This Weekend: Home Show at Fairgrounds and Much More

Did we miss any biggies? Let us know in the comments section.

Please post your events on Geneva Patch! That's the best way for us to make sure we don't miss any news about what's going on in town.

It's also the first place we look for "5 Things," so if you want to give your event some extra publicity, post your event on Patch and send an e-mail torickn@patch.com or give a call to Rick Nagel at 630-886-0792. (Note: Not during spring break, though. I'll be on vacation. :)

Event: Seventy-five years ago, Theodor Seuss Geisel, otherwise known as Dr. Seuss, made a legendary mark in children's literature. This spring at The Little Traveler, another unique artist, Sandi Sylver, pays Dr. Suess a fitting tribute with her combination of puppetry, ventriloquism, story-telling, and song. Adults love Sandi's smart and funny presentations as much as the kids.

The $15 ticket includes breakfast in The Little Traveler's Atrium Cafe, the show, and a $10 shopping coupon. Tickets available by phone or online at www.littletraveler.com.

Event: Where are we going? It's 2012, the year everyone's gearing up for a major energy change. Let's talk about what you are experiencing and how it related to earth and cosmic change.

  • When: 8 p.m. Friday, March 23
  • Where: 524 W State St, Geneva, IL
  • Cost: Tickets are $20 for adults, with a $15 rate for seniors 65 and older, and students. They are available online, with a credit card, at guptheatre.org. They can also be reserved for pick-up at the door, with cash or check, by calling 630-677-1725.

Event: The Geneva Underground Playhouse will present “The Boys Next Door,” a funny and touching off-Broadway success. The play by Tom Griffin focuses on the lives of four mentally-challenged men who live in a communal residence under the watchful eye of a sincere, but increasingly despairing, social worker, named Jack.

Join The Kane County Young Republican Unity Party for its second bi-annual unity party. The great event will include many area Republican candidates and elected officials. The goal is to bring all candidates together after the primary election to help show support for those who won the nomination.
