Two St. Peter Alumni Compete At IHSA State Cross Country Meet

Aurora Central Catholic Junior CeCi Crown and Rosary High School Sophomore Shea Vero, both former St. Peter Cross Country runners got their chance to shine for their respective high school teams last Saturday at the IHSA State Cross Country Championship Meet in Peoria.

CeCi Crown finished 2nd for her team placing 68th in the 207 runner field with a time of 19:21. Aurora Central Catholic finished 17th in the team standings of the Girls Class 1A finals.

In the Class 2A race Shea Vero finished 3rd for the Rosary girls in 102nd place with a time of 19:31. The team placed 17th overall. Also of note was Rosary Junior Emi Martin who finished in 71st place with a time of 19:10. Martin is also a St. Peter alumni although she never ran for the cross country team while at St. Peter.

Both Crown and Vero competed in the IESA State Championship Cross Country Meet while on the St. Peter team, valuable experience for the tough competition at the IHSA High School level.
