St. Peter Cross Country Wins Second Conference Meet

St. Peter Rockets Cross Country extends conference winning streak.

The St. Peter Rockets Cross Country teams extended their Tri-County Conference winning streak on Monday at Leroy Oakes Forest Preserve in St. Charles.

Both the fifth/sixth-grade and seventh-eighth-grade teams won the meet by a wide margin over the second-place finisher, St. Patrick of St. Charles.

The trio of Maria Tavierne, Elizabeth Allon and Katy Huber led the seventh-eighth girls while Jon Young, Charlie Zimmer and Matthew Martin took first through third for the boys.

Seven fifth/sixth-grade St. Peter girls rounded out the top seven places in their race with Caroline Zimmer, Anna Burke and Rachel Tork leading the way. Sam McEnery and David Peterson led the Rockets in the fifth/sixth boys race with a first- and third-place finish.

The Rockets' next contest is the fun but challenging one-mile "Taste of Cross" meet at Rosary High School on Friday. Next week has the Rockets travelling to hilly Randall Oaks Park in Elgin for another conference challenge.
