Fire At Warehouse On Gary Lane

Patch will provide additional information when it is available from official sources.

A fire broke out around 4:45 p.m. Monday at a warehouse just east if 2202 Gary Lane in Geneva.

A dispatch post at 5:51 p.m. said the address was 2080 Gary Lane and that the warehouse was vacant. That is unconfirmed as of 10 p.m. Monday.

Fire Department personnel sprayed water into a chimney on the building's roof. It appeared on the scene that the building had been evacuated, and no one was in danger.

Part of Gary Lane was closed to traffic, but there was no backup as of 5:15 p.m.

At 5:35 p.m., Tri-Com advised that a ventilation unit was on the way, but it would be another 40 minutes until it could get there.

Patch will follow up with video as well as more information when it is available from official sources.
