Do you have questions for them? Are they accessible to answer questions? Sometimes, just observing their behavior or noticing whether they directly answer or evade questions can be revealing. How focused are they on the responsibilities of the position they wish to fill?

In the 2011 consolidated election, only 16.5% of registered voters voted. That means 16.5% decided how 87% of your property taxes were going to be spent. That is why you need to vote on April 9th! If you are not currently registered to vote, you have until next Tuesday (March 12th) to register.
