Vikings Girls Cross Country Team Ends Season With Seventh Place Finish

Great end to a successful girls cross country season.

The Geneva Vikings girls cross country team earned a seventh-place finish from the field of 21 teams Saturday at the IHSA Sectionals. Their score was 230—the amount of points given to each of the top five finishers combined.

Geneva's top five placings were 27, 28, 46, 64, and 65. The Vikings were the 13th team to have their first runner cross the finish line, but their balance across the board enabled them to achieve a very respectable seventh place, 29 points behind Naperville Central.

Geneva's top four finishers are all underclassmen, which makes their successful season even more impressive with such a young group. Like the boys team, look for the girls cross country team to come back even better next season.
