Geneva Freshman Kirby Einck's Amazing Tennis Season Comes To A Close
Only a freshman, she will get even better
Geneva Vikings freshman Kirby Einck had one heck of a tennis season this fall.
Her incredible season came to a close on Friday after falling 6-3, 7-5 to Highland Park's Jacqueline Baum in the second round of the IHSA State Finals. Einck easily defeated Peoria's Tiffany Cheng in the first round before coming up just short of advancing to the third round.
Geneva girls tennis coach Maureen Weiler thought Einck played an amazing match despite getting knocked out of the state finals.

"She went down, but then came back. She's a fighter, and I think this whole experience gave her the desire to compete and improve even more," Weiler said, according to the Kane Country Chronicle.
It's scary to think how good she can be after putting together a 27-9 season—as a freshman.
