Postcards From Spring Break: NYC (Day 2)

Today's stop: the Guggenheim and Central Park Zoo.

I'm not being a very good reporter here. We're running late (again) for today's trip into the city.

Yesterday was the Guggenheim museum and Central Park, particularly the zoo. The Guggenheim's main attraction was the John Chamberlain exhibit. He's one of the guys who used one medium a lot—in his case, car parts. It was kind of a one-note tune, but there are side adventures in the Guggenheim, and we saw Picasso and Manet and Kandinsky and the Guggenheim itself, which is architecturally my favorite building of all time.

We strolled Central Park, had a snack at a little snack shop and walked by the Boathouse restaurant. The zoo was the best, especially for our group. It's a small, intimate zoo in Central Park. Very up-close with the animals. Amazing sea-lion show.

"I would love to write something that people would still read 50 or 100 years from now. That comes with growing older, I think."
