'Legally Blonde: The Musical' Coming to Batavia June 29-July 1
Rising Star Theatreworks stages new musical in Batavia's Fine Arts Centre.
Join Rising Star Theatreworks for the new, award-winning Broadway sensation Legally Blonde: The Musical on June 29–July 1 at the Batavia Fine Arts Centre, 1201 Main Street, Batavia. New York Magazine calls the show "a feel-good song and dance juggernaut."
Sorority girl and underestimated blonde Elle Woods doesn't take no for an answer. So when her boyfriend, Warner, dumps her for someone serious, Elle puts down the credit card, hits the books, and heads for Harvard Law School! Based on the hit movie of the same name starring Reese Witherspoon, this singing, dancing musical comedy will take you from the social whirl of California campus life to Harvard's Halls of Justice with our heroine and her chihuahua, Bruiser. The verdict? This much fun shouldn't be legal!
Director and vocal director for Legally Blonde: The Musical is Dawn Harkins, choreographers are Kyle Donahue and Jocelyn Adamski, and music director is Tom Jesse. The musical features cast members of high school and college-age, and also features some Rising Star alumni.

Legally Blonde: The Musical will be performed at the new Batavia Fine Arts Centre at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 29, and Saturday, June 30, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 1. Tickets start at $14. The final dress rehearsal—at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 28—will be open to individuals with special needs and their families at no cost.

The Batavia Fine Arts Centre is located at 1201 Main Street, Batavia, at the Batavia High School. The entrance for the Fine Arts Centre is one block north, on Wilson Street.
