Jenny McCarthy Gets Engaged to Donnie Wahlberg

South Side gal and Mother McAuley alum Jenny McCarthy told viewers of "The View" on Wednesday that her love, Donnie Wahlberg, got down on one knee and proposed.

"I just got engaged!" she gushed, showing off the huge yellow sapphire engagement ring.

They might set the date for August, she said.

They started dating last summer, and fans started speculating aboutpossible wedding bells a few months ago.

In January, the incongruous pair appeared on an episode of Wahlburgers, where Jenny feasted on a hot dog stuffed inside a burger, which the Wahlbergs named "Jenny's Chicago Dog." She also tried to get Mama Wahlberg to share some of Donnie's childhood secrets.

This would be a second marriage for each. Wahlberg is 44 and McCarthy, who grew up in Evergreen Park, is 41. Wahlberg has two sons and McCarthy has a son, Evan. She lives in Geneva.
