Greater Geneva Art Guild Hosts Unique Studio Tour Sept. 13-15
In conjunction with the tour, the guild will host the first "Arty Party" from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Geneva Golf Club, 831 South St.
Tickets are now on sale for the Greater Geneva Art Guild's weekend of Art Sept.13-15. The 2013 Art Studio Tour will showcase the talents of more than 30 area artists featured at working studios of member artists and Geneva businesses.
Enjoy rare access to the interesting and unique studios that give you a glimpse into artists' creative world. Observe the work of fiber artists, jewelers, metalworkers, media artists, mixed media artists, painters, photographers, sculptors and wood workers. Artists will give demonstrations during
the tour, and all artwork will be available for purchase.
"We want to make people aware of the exceptional talents we have in and around our quaint and historic area," said Guild President Lorraine Ochsner. "Our Fox Valley exudes a beauty that invites creativity and encourages the arts."
Studio Tour tickets are $10, and includes a $10 gift certificate that can be used toward the purchase of an art piece during the 2013 Studio Tour. Tickets includes a map of the studio locations.
In conjunction with the tour, the Greater Geneva Art Guild will host the first Arty Party from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 14 at the Geneva Golf Club, 831 South St. Party-goers will have the opportunity to meet guild member artists. Tickets for this benefit party are $25 in advance or $30 at the door and include light refreshments, live music and a silent auction and raffle of art pieces.
The tour will run from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 13, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 14 and noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 15. Tickets can be purchased in Geneva at Gallery 28, Crystal Life, Circa, Art Box, Needle Things/Down to Earth Pottery, Gibby's Wine Den, Geneva Ace Hardware and online at www.genevaartguild.com.
